Introduction

We gather and use certain information about individuals in order to provide products and services and to enable certain functions on this website. We also collect information to better understand how visitors use this website and to present timely, relevant information to them.

What data we gather

How we use this data

Collecting this data helps us understand what you are looking for from the company, enabling us to provide improved services. Specifically, we may use data:

How we share your data with third parties

The service you booked. In order to complete your booking, we need to send relevant booking details to the driver or partner. This may include information like your name, contact and payment details, and any preferences you specified when making a booking.

Reviews. We may use your contact information to invite you to write a customer review.

Cookies and how we use them

A cookie is a small file placed on your computer's hard drive. It enables our website to identify your computer as you view different pages on our website. Cookies allow websites and applications to store your preferences in order to present content, options or functions that are specific to you. They also enable us to see information like how many people use the website and what pages they tend to visit.

The banner on your first visit offers two categories, and both start switched off. ANALYTICS covers Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager) and Microsoft Clarity: which pages get read, and where the booking flow loses people. Clarity records anonymised sessions — clicks, scrolling, page journeys — stores its data in the EU, and masks text input by default, so what you type into forms is not recorded. MARKETING covers Google Ads: measuring which of our adverts led to a booking, and showing our adverts to people who have been here.

Nothing in either category loads until you accept it. We use Google Consent Mode, so Google's own tags are told what you allowed and hold back the rest. If you accept marketing, the confirmation page also passes your email address and phone number to Google Ads for conversion matching — hashed in your browser first, so Google receives a fingerprint rather than the address itself. Decline, and neither is sent.

We do not sell your data. Cookies do not provide us with access to your computer or any information about you, other than that which you choose to share with us.

Controlling cookies

You can change or withdraw your answer at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page — the same banner returns, and turning a category off takes effect immediately. You can also use your web browser's cookie settings to determine how our website uses cookies. If you do not want our website to store cookies on your computer or device, you should set your web browser to refuse cookies. However, please note that doing this may affect how our website functions — some pages and services may become unavailable to you.

Controlling information about you

We will never lease, distribute or sell your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or the law requires us to. We will always hold your information securely. To prevent unauthorised disclosure or access to your information, we have implemented strong physical and electronic security safeguards. Only authorised personnel are permitted to access personal data in the course of their work.

Any personal information we hold about you is stored and processed under our data protection policy, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can ask us to remove your personal data from our customer database by sending an email to info@eurocitycars.com with “Request for removal of personal information” in the subject line.

Our website may contain links to other websites. Please note that we have no control over websites outside the eurocitycars.com domain. If you provide information to a website to which we link, we are not responsible for its protection and privacy.
